Everything is massive in and around S. Pietro. To absorb the sense of scale you are required there in person. Maybe this is the point, to be a space worthy if the pilgrims who walked for days and weeks to get here. Lucky for us, they now have a Metro station nearby :)

Famous for suckling the two founding fathers of Rome when they were abandoned around the 5th century BC. I wonder if they know what they started?
